Two states, six permit offices
A repaint needs no permit anywhere. A remodel that moves plumbing, alters wiring or touches structure usually does, and which office issues it depends on the address: Union, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus or Iredell County in North Carolina, York or Lancaster County in South Carolina, and in some places the town itself. We confirm it before we promise a start date, and the lead time is written into the schedule that comes with your estimate.
How distance changes the answer, honestly
Within about twenty minutes of Monroe, no job is too small: one ceiling, one front door, a run of rotten trim. Further out, small jobs stop making sense for either side, and we would rather tell you that on the phone than quote a number padded to cover the road. For a whole interior, a full exterior, a kitchen or a bathroom, anywhere inside fifty miles of Charlotte is ordinary working territory.

About fifty miles. That takes in all of Mecklenburg and Union counties, Cabarrus County, the Lake Norman towns, and York and Lancaster counties in South Carolina. If you are near the edge of that, call; the answer depends on the job more than the mileage.
Does the distance change the price?
No. We do not build the drive into a square-foot rate. What distance changes is which jobs make sense: close to Monroe, one ceiling is worth doing properly; an hour away we are the right call for a whole interior, an exterior, a kitchen or a bathroom, and we will say so honestly.
Do you work in South Carolina?
Yes: Fort Mill, Tega Cay, Indian Land, Rock Hill and the rest of York and Lancaster counties. Jobs there fall under South Carolina licensing and South Carolina permit offices, which we explain on those pages and in this guide.
Where are you actually based?
