Our New Website, and What Happens When You Ask for an Estimate
Same crew, same phone number, a much better front door. Here is what changed, how to get a written estimate out of it, and what we are adding over the next few months.
- 33pages on the new site
- 10areas with their own page
- 62photos of our own jobs
- We have a new website, built around getting you a free written estimate with the least effort.
- Ask from the estimate form or tap the call bar on your phone. Both reach us straight away.
- Every request is saved the moment you send it, so nothing sits unread in a spam folder.
- The whole Charlotte area now has its own pages, from South Charlotte to Lake Norman.
- Built by ByteZero, with a lead dashboard in place and AI call answering on the way.

What is new
For years our website was the weakest part of the business. It was built on a template, every page said the same thing, and if you sent us a request through it there was no way for either of us to know it had arrived.
The new site fixes the parts that matter to you when you are trying to hire somebody:
- One page per job. Interior painting, exterior painting, kitchens, bathrooms, contractor work and commercial painting each have their own page, written the way we explain them on the phone.
- Our own work, shown properly. The gallery holds 62 photographs of jobs this crew finished, from slate showers to painted beams, cleaned up so the color is true.
- Your part of town. Ten area pages cover where we work, from Monroe and Union County to South Charlotte, Matthews, Fort Mill, Concord, Rock Hill and Lake Norman. The service areas page lists them all.
- Straight answers. The advice section covers the questions we get every week, like whether a painter needs a license in North Carolina and how long exterior paint lasts here.
How to ask for an estimate now
There are two routes, and both are free.
- The estimate form. It is on the homepage and the contact page. It asks for your name, phone, email, town and what you need done, plus a box for anything else we should know. That is enough for us to call you back ready to talk about your job.
- The phone. Call (704) 507-7150. On a phone the site keeps a call button at the bottom of every page, so you never have to scroll back up to find the number.
A tip from twenty-five years of first phone calls: tell us the town, the rooms, and whether anything is damaged (water stains, soft wood, peeling in one spot). Those three things decide most of the estimate before we even arrive.
What happens after you send it
This is the part we cared about most. When you press the button, your request is saved to our system and sent to us by email the moment it arrives. It is not left sitting in an inbox that nobody checks, and it cannot quietly disappear.
If anything ever goes wrong while sending, the form tells you so and gives you our number, instead of pretending it worked. A lost request is the worst outcome for both of us, so the site is built to make that impossible rather than unlikely.
From there it is the same as it has always been. We call you back, arrange a time to walk the rooms or the outside of the house with you, and put a number in writing. No obligation, and no pressure to decide on the spot.
Who built it, and how it works behind the scenes
We are painters and remodelers, not web designers, so we handed our marketing to specialists. The new site, the estimate system behind it and the search work that helps people find us were built by ByteZero, a digital marketing agency in Charlotte, NC that works with contractors and small businesses across the Carolinas.
What made the difference for us is that they treat a website as a way to get the phone to ring, not as a brochure. Their approach has four parts, and each one shows up somewhere on this site:
- Website design built around leads. Every page has one job and one clear next step: ask for an estimate or call. That is the kind of small business website development they do for contractors, and it is why the call button follows you down the page on a phone.
- SEO for the towns we actually work in. Each service and each part of the Charlotte area has its own page, written so that someone searching for a bathroom remodel in Matthews or a repaint in Fort Mill finds the right one. That is ordinary, patient search engine optimization, and it takes months rather than days.
- Paid marketing when it makes sense. They also run Google Ads and paid marketing for businesses like ours. Because every call and estimate request is already tracked, any ad spend can be judged on the jobs it brings in rather than on clicks.
- Tracking that shows what works. Estimate requests, call taps and form visits are counted by page, so we can see which parts of the site bring in work and which need attention.
AI-first tools: dashboards and call answering
ByteZero calls its approach AI-first, and for a small crew that mostly means one thing: nothing falls through the cracks while we are on a job.
- A lead dashboard. Every estimate request and every call tap from the website lands in one dashboard, so we can see at a glance who asked, what for and from which town, instead of hunting through an inbox.
- AI call answering and monitoring. We are adding an AI-assisted phone line so a call that comes in while we are up a ladder still gets answered, the details get noted and summarized, and we get them straight away instead of a voicemail we find at six o'clock.
- Quicker estimates. We are also working with them on turning a walk-round into a written estimate faster, so you are not waiting on paperwork to make a decision.
What that means for you is simple: when you look for a painter or a remodeler anywhere around Charlotte, we should be easier to find, and when you find us, easier to reach.
What is coming next
The website is the first step. Over the next few months you will also see:
- A better Google listing. Keeping our Google Business Profile current with photos, services and the areas we cover, so the map shows you the right information.
- More town pages. A new page each time we finish a job somewhere new, with that job on it, rather than a list of town names.
- The new phone line described above, once it has been tested on our own calls first.
If there is something you wanted to find on the site and could not, tell us when you call. It will probably be the next thing we add.
Is the phone number the same?
Yes. (704) 507-7150 is still the fastest way to reach us, Monday to Friday. The website gives you a second route that works at eleven at night, when most people actually get around to it.
Do you still work in Monroe?
Yes. Monroe and Union County are home, and they have their own page on the site. The new site simply says out loud what has been true for years: we work across the Charlotte area, roughly fifty miles around the city, for complete jobs.
How long does an estimate take?
Asking for one takes about a minute. After that we call you back to set up a walk-round at the house, and the written number follows the visit. It is free, and there is no obligation.
Are the photos on the site really your jobs?
The photographs in the gallery are jobs this crew finished. Some pages also use illustrations to show a room or a process, and those are labelled as illustrations at the foot of every page.
